I have several years of experience with working with underachieving pupils at KS3 level. I am a qualified scondary maths teacher. There are very few good resources for children who have little concrete learning of maths and I have made several resources which have helped to build childrens confidence in maths. The sheets are designed to give pupils the experience of working independently and the feeling of achieveing something which is a difficult topic such as percentages or algebra.

This is how pupils can show progress and enables the teacher to record targets to be set and if the pupils can provide another example to meet the lesson objective. These sheets are to be cut and glues into pupils books.

This is a simple target setting sheet for pupils books when marking. The idea is that pupils can instantly have a go at making progress by answering a question set by the teacher. Targets can be met and recorded on the sheets. These feedback sheets are to be cut and glued into books after a topic taught and then pupils to read how they can make progress.

Pupils can define the meaning of a word. There is room for ironing out misconceptions of meaning of words. I have enrlaged these sheets and allowed pupils to work in groups or pairs and then present the finding to the rest of the group.
